7 Ways to Live Your O.G. Life in 2021

Welcome!

I appreciate you for visiting my website & blog. Thank you.

For those that don’t know me, my name is David Oseguera Goetz and The Fit O.G. LLC is my online personal training business. My Purpose: to impact, transform, and empower humanity toward a healthier life.

After over 1 year in the fitness industry, I am finally starting my blog to help achieve that purpose. This blog is here to provide YOU & all my homies with information & tips you need to live that healthier life.

I’m kicking off my blog this week with 7 Ways to Live Your O.G. Life in 2021!

1. Know your WHY?

Do you want to lose weight because you want to be skinnier?
OR…
Is it to regain confidence in yourself, to have more energy, and to enjoy how you do it.
Take some time to think about it. What is driving you to make a change now?
Why now and why later? Find a deep reason that will motivate you to continue even when you won’t want to.
There’s a reason you’ve heard about this over and over again.

2. Do the things

Resolutions… goals… plans… they are all the same if you don’t act on them.
You can’t take a magic pill or wish for what you want and *poof* it’s there. It doesn’t work like that.
You need to take action. If you want to feel well rested when you wake up, what should you do? Set up an alarm, a bed time, & follow the schedule.
If you want to quit eating junk food for lunch at work, make a plan. Cook your meals, meal prep, etc… Then….

3. Keep doing the things

Make it a habit, set daily reminders, to-dos, schedules, alarms, giant notes on the mirror….
Whatever you need to do. Do it. Then keep doing it. You don’t become a master of anything by doing it right once.
This is the reason for knowing your WHY in the first place. Without it, what’s your reason for continuing to take action on your goals? Why not give up and forget about it?

4. Exercise / Move

Yes, exercise is specific to being able to Live Your O.G. Life.
This doesn’t mean hitting the gym every day for 2 hours in beast mode. Have fun while you do it. For example, you can take a brisk walk around your neighborhood.
My husband and I recently moved to a new area with amazing views. We hadn’t taken any walks around the neighborhood yet and it snowed a little last week.
The temps were perfect yesterday, so we grabbed our corgi and went for a walk up the road to take advantage of it.
I didn’t time it, I didn’t worry about calories burned, resistance, or timers yesterday. I had a wonderful time with my husband & our corgi for about 30-minutes though.

Alternatively, this morning I worked out for 30-minutes by doing some resistance training. It wasn’t as wonderful, but it was effective & I felt great about it.

5. Make the healthier choice

Let’s be honest, the key word in that is CHOICE. Why?
99% of the times I don’t eat healthy is because I CHOOSE to give into something that was easier, saltier, sweeter, etc…
It’s much easier to pop in a frozen meal than it is to prep and cook everything, but it’s not going to help you much.
Do you need to drink soda or pop every day with lunch or can you choose to drink water instead?

6. Practice gratitude

We all have something to be grateful for every day despite what might happen.
If you think that is difficult to understand or to do right now, then it can definitely help you.
When I lost a job I had almost a decade ago, I could not grasp the concept of being grateful for much of anything.
A close friend encouraged me to find the positive in what seemed like a worst-case scenario to me.
I can’t say I’m a master of gratitude, but I can say it’s helped improve my outlook on life & be more positive.

7. Do what makes you happy

All in all, the point is to live your life to the fullest and do what makes you happy.
If you don’t know what that is, try new things out. Sign up for a cooking class, dance class, start a new hobby, anything.
Find something that makes you happy and go for it. You only live once. Live Your O.G. Life!
